Makhia Laster And Xzavier Goodman Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

BUFFALO, NY – All-Region honorees for the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field season were announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). To earn this honor, athletes must finish in the top-5 in their respective individual events, or the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Buffalo State had two athletes recognized as Xzavier Goodman (Buffalo, NY/Olmstead) earned All-Region in the shot put while Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) earned All-Region in the long jump.

Goodman earns his regional recognition in the shot put for a second straight outdoor season. He also earned All-Region in the shot put in each of his first two indoor seasons. At SUNYAC Championships, Goodman finished second in the shot put while earning Second Team All-SUNYAC honors. He also set the program record in the event at the UB Spring Invite back in April with a mark of 16.08 meters.

Laster earns the 11th All-Region recognition of her career between indoor and outdoor including a fourth straight in the long jump. Laster earned a fourth straight SUNYAC Championship in the event and won the event at the regional meet with a season-best jump of 5.97 meters. She currently holds the program record in the event for both indoor and outdoor as she enters NCAA Championships this week.
