BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team, led by first year head coach Bean Minerd, has announced the addition of
Anastacia Wells and
Lauren Rinow to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2026 season. Both finished out their playing careers with the Bengals a season ago in one of the best seasons in program history. Wells will serve as the primary assistant while Rinow will serve as a volunteer.
Wells played 64 games for Buffalo State from 2022-2025 and stamped herself into the record books as one of the premier defenders in program history. Wells set the program marks for caused turnovers in a season with 45 as well as career caused turnovers with 131, and ground balls with 161. Wells also served as one of the team captains this past season. A Second Team All-SUNYAC selection in 2022, Wells graduated from Buffalo State following last season with a degree in biology.
Rinow also played from 2022-2025 and served as a team captain in 2024 and 2025. Across 63 games played, Rinow totaled 121 points on 90 goals and 31 assists with four game-winning goals, 122 ground balls, 63 caused turnovers, and 84 draw controls. Rinow was named SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week in April 2025 and graduated with a degree in data science & analytics from Buffalo State.
