HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Buffalo State women's soccer team fell on the road, 4-1, to the Houghton University Highlanders in their latest non-conference matchup.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Kaylee Valentic (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) was the lone goal scorer for the Bengals, with Scarlett Chambers (Dayton, OH/Butler) credited with the assist. Valentic's goal officially pushes her to 61 career points, moving her into the top six on the women's soccer program's all-time scoring list.
- In goal, Kellie Brewer (Marion, NY/Sodus) went the distance, recording five saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a busy weekend with back-to-back home games, the Bengals hit the road for a matchup with the Houghton University Highlanders. The game started on a rough note for the Bengals, conceding a goal just six minutes in. Despite creating several good scoring chances, the Bengals gave up a second goal, making the climb back even steeper. The Highlanders stayed hot and added a third goal in the 30th minute, taking a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime.
- Coming out of the break, the Highlanders struck again in the 45th minute to extend their lead. The Bengals finally broke through in the 54th minute to stay within striking distance, but despite dominating possession and generating multiple chances throughout the second half, they were unable to overcome the deficit, ultimately falling to the Highlanders on the road.
FOR THE FOES
- Four different Highlanders found the back of the net, with Gracelyn Williams leading the way as the lone multi-point performer, tallying a goal and an assist.
- Preslee Miller earned the win in net, playing all 90 minutes and recording five saves.
