BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team has announced their upcoming schedule for the 2025-26 season. Coming off another trip to the SUNYAC Semifinals, head coach
Steve Murphy and his squad will look to climb as a constant contender in one of the best hockey conferences in the country.
Buffalo State will open the season hosting their annual Buffalo State Bengals Classic (Oct. 31-Nov. 1). The tournament will feature a championship/consolation format featuring Chatham and first-year programs St. John Fisher and Hiram. The Bengals will battle St. John Fisher to open the action.
The Bengals will then head on the road for six straight matchups featuring Brockport (Nov. 7) and Geneseo (Nov. 8) before opening SUNYAC play against Cortland (Nov. 14), Morrisville (Nov. 15), and Fredonia (Nov. 21). The road trip concludes with a trip to Hiram (Dec. 2) to battle the Terriers. Murphy's squad will close out the first half of the season with a pair of home SUNYAC matchups featuring Skidmore (Dec. 5) and Plattsburgh (Dec. 6) before a pair of road matchups at Trine (Dec. 12-13).
Returning to action in 2026, the Bengals will finish the regular season with 13 straight SUNYAC matchups. Buffalo State will head to Potsdam (Jan. 9) and Canton (Jan. 10) before returning to the Ice Arena for five straight matchups against Oswego (Jan. 16), Hobart (Jan. 17), Morrisville (Jan. 23), Cortland (Jan. 24), and Fredonia (Jan. 30).
The final six games of the regular season will be two on the road at Plattsburgh (Feb. 6) and Skidmore (Feb. 7), two at home against Canton (Feb. 13) and Potsdam (Feb. 14), and two on the road at Hobart (Feb. 20) and Oswego (Feb. 21)
The SUNYAC Tournament is set to run from February 25-March 7 with a first round, semifinal, and championship game format. Buffalo State earned the four-seed as they hosting SUNY Canton in the first round of the postseason. Following a thrilling 6-4 victory, the Bengals reached the semifinals against Oswego before falling 5-2 to the Lakers. Oswego enters the season as the reigning-conference champions, defeating Plattsburgh 5-2 in the championship. Skidmore and Hobart will join the SUNYAC for this upcoming season with Hobart entering the year as the three-time reigning NCAA Division III Champions.
