POTSDAM, NY – The Buffalo State women's soccer team won their first SUNYAC matchup of the season after defeating the Potsdam Bears with a final score of 2-1 on the Maxcy Turf Field.

• Olivia Kilmer (Hammondsport, NY/Avoca) and Riley Stevenson (Albany, NY/Guilderland) each scored for the Bengals.
• Makenzie Below (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties), Reagan Michel (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora), and Emily Maczka (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) each tallied an assist.
• Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) tallied four saves in goal in the win.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Kilmer got the Bengals on the board less than one minute into the first half after a deep pass from Below.
• Both sides were quiet the rest of the half as both goalies made saves in the final minutes to keep the score 1-0 Buffalo State.
• After the break, Potsdam came out with an early goal to even the score at 1-1.
• Just over ten minutes later, Stevenson scored after a quick touch-pass from Michel to give the Bengals the lead.
• Williams made one save down the stretch to preserve the Bengals win.
• Overall, the Bengals outshot Potsdam 20-9 overall with ten shots on goal.

 
FOR THE FOES

• Meg Napolean scored the lone Potsdam goal with Megan Fry making eight saves in net.
