HOW IT HAPPENED
- After dropping their last home contest with New Paltz the night before, the Bengals looked to scratch that game out of their minds as they played host to the Oswego State Lakers.
- In the first half, the Bengals fell behind as the Lakers' strong shooting gave them an early lead. The Bengals clawed their way back and trailed by a point, but then faced 8-0 and 12-0 runs from the Lakers. In the final minutes, the Bengals pushed to cut the deficit to single digits. However, the Lakers held steady and scored at the buzzer, sending the Bengals into halftime trailing by double digits.
- In the second half, the Lakers would start hot once again, going on a 7-0 run to start the half. However, the Bengals remained calm during this stretch, keeping their play under control while forcing the Lakers into mistakes. At the midway point of the half, the Bengals would go on a 10-0 run to chip into the Lakers' lead and force a fight for the finish. While the Bengals would keep things close to close the second half, the Lakers would do just enough to close out the Bengals on their home floor in this SUNYAC matchup.
FOR THE FOES
- Chris Whyte-Luciano led all scorers with 16 points, while Jayson McGhee finished with 13 points in support.
- As a team, the Lakers shot 47.4% from the floor, 47.6 from beyond the three-point line, and 45.5% from the free-throw line.
