HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bengals continued their homestand, aiming for their second SUNYAC win as they hosted the Oswego State Lakers.
  • In the opening quarter, the Bengals would battle the Lakers in a back-and-forth start to this matchup. A low-scoring quarter gave the Bengals confidence, as they forced the Lakers to take tough shots at the basket and trailed the Lakers by single digits heading into the second quarter.
  • In the second quarter, the story would remain the same for both sides, as the pace of play and scoring would pick up. As the Lakers would take a double-digit lead midway through the quarter, the Bengals would keep pace, chipping away at the Lakers' lead and trailing into halftime by eight points.
  • After halftime, the Lakers seized momentum with a 10-0 run for a double-digit lead. The Bengals battled on, but a 28-point quarter let the Lakers pull away entering the fourth.
  • In the fourth, the Bengals kept the effort high as they attempted to crack into the Lakers' lead. Another strong defensive quarter from the Bengals would hold the Lakers at bay, but the Bengals' deficit was too much to overcome, and they fell in this matchup.
FOR THE FOES
  • Giavanna Principio-White led the Lakers with a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
  • As a team, the Lakers shot 38.7% from the field, 27.6% from behind the three-point line, and 40.0% from the free-throw line.
