ROCHESTER, NY – The Buffalo State football team came up short with a 29-18 loss against the Rochester Yellowjackets this afternoon at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Amir Cameron (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) had 306 passing yards with three touchdowns. Coy Patterson (Akron, NY/Akron) came in late in the action and tallied 26 passing yards and a touchdown.
- JC Dixon (Niagara Falls, NY/Canisius) posted 134 rushing yards for Buffalo State on 19 attempts.
- Three different Bengal receivers caught a touchdown in JP Plaisime (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore), Jake Heldwein (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg), and AJ Brooks (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham). Plaisime and Otho Cox (Nyack, NY/Nyack)each also had over 100 yards receiving yards in the effort.
- On the defensive side, Brody Stevens (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) had eight total tackles including a sack with Zaire Walden (Brooklyn, NY/Erasmus Hall) registering a forced fumble.
- Maleek Walston (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) and Xavier Wallace-Messam (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) each had an interception for Buffalo State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Buffalo State offense came out hot as Cameron found Plaisime for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game from scrimmage.
- Later in the quarter, the Bengals marched down field where Cameron connected with Heldwein for another Buffalo State touchdown. The Yellowjackets were able to hault the Bengals' two-point attempt.
- Rochester was able to tally a safety at the end of the quarter to get on the scoreboard.
- Neither side was able to score in the second quarter as Buffalo State led 12-2 heading into halftime.
- Coming out of the break, Rochester scored on their opening drive to cut the Buffalo State lead to just three.
- The Yellowjackets scored again on their very next drive to take a 16-12 lead in the action.
- The Bengals responded on their next drive as Cameron found Brooks for another Buffalo State score. Rochester responded again with a touchdown as they led 22-18 into the fourth quarter.
- After an early touchdown from the Yellowjackets in the fourth quarter, the Buffalo State offense marched up field again, but a late interception ended their chances at cutting into the Rochester lead as the Yellowjackets took a pair of knees to run out the clock.
FOR THE FOES
- Cole Raux rushed for 234 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
- Gavin Guidette had the eventual game-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter.
