INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

  • Outside of Kilmer, Emily Bombard (Chaumont, NY/Immaculate Heart) and Lilly Jaroszewski (El Paso, TX/Coronado) each scored a goal for the Bengals.
  • In goal, all three goalkeepers saw action today, with Gabriela Aichinger (Elma, NY/Iroquois) getting the start, while Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) and Liz Flores (Hurst, TX/Colleyville Heritage) split the second half. Williams made the lone save in net for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a tough loss in their SUNYAC opener against the Cortland Red Dragons, the Bengals returned home for their SUNYAC home opener, hosting the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs.
  • Opening the first half, the Bengals would go on the attack first, keeping ball control in the Mustangs' defensive zone and forcing their goalkeeper to make tough saves in net. This offensive attack would continue throughout the half, but a late corner chance by the Mustangs would see them break the scoring drought in this contest, netting a goal in the 43rd minute. Having a strong half but suffering an unlucky break, the Bengals entered the half down a goal to the Mustangs.
  • After the halftime break, the Bengals would continue their excellent offensive effort and would be rewarded, as they found the back of the net in the 47th minute to bring this matchup back even. This goal would be one of four unanswered goals by the Bengals, who'd find the back of the net in the 60th, 63rd  and 71st minutes of this contest, closing out the Mustangs with a 4-1 victory on Coyer Field.
FOR THE FOES
  • Alexis Clark scored the lone goal for the Mustangs.
  • Ainslie Romasco finished with 13 saves in goal to lead all players.
UP NEXT
The Bengals hope to add onto their win total in SUNYAC play, as they return to Coyer Field to host the Oswego State Lakers on Wednesday, October 7 at 4:00 p.m.
