HOW IT HAPPENED
- Making their return to 'Tuesday Night Action', the Bengals looked to wipe away a tough weekend outing in their matchup with the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs.
- The opening quarter found both sides struggling to finish at the rim, forcing this matchup into a defensive battle early. As play continued, the Bengals fell behind as the Mustangs found their touch at the rim, leaving the Bengals trailing by two possessions heading into the second quarter.
- In the second quarter, the Bengals would respond with one of their best offensive quarters of the season. After tying this contest at 17, the Bengals would go on a 10-0 run to close the quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 20-6, and walked into halftime with a double-digit lead.
- Exiting the half, the Bengals looked to maintain control, but the Mustangs would fight back, returning the favor with strong defensive play to contain the Bengals. This would lead the Bengals to see their double-digit lead fall to just a three-point lead, following an 8-0 run by the Mustangs to close the quarter and make the fourth quarter a battle.
- And a fight is what the Bengals brought in the fourth quarter, as they fought to hold onto their lead as the Mustangs clawed their way back into this one. The Bengals would lean on their defense in this one, forcing the Mustangs into tough looks and playing sound basketball to close the quarter, making clutch free throws and walking out of Morrisville with another 'W' in the win column for the season.
