HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Celebrating 'Senior Day' in their home season finale, the Bengals looked to send off their seniors in winning fashion as they hosted the SUNY Potsdam Bears.
  • The opening quarter saw both sides trade baskets for much of the quarter, showing the intensity that this contest would end up proving to be. A late lead from the Bengals would be responded to by the Bears, who'd close the half strong, sending the Bengals into the second quarter trailing.
  • In the second quarter, the Bengals would respond with some strong defense and hot shooting from beyond the three-point line, retaking the lead over the Bears. A testy finish to the half saw both teams drive to the paint, with the Bears taking the advantage at the free-throw line, extending the Bengals' deficit to two possessions heading into halftime.
  • In the third quarter, the Bengals would fight off a double-digit deficit, as the Bears would get hot from three-point land. A strong 5-0 run would swing the momentum the Bengals way late in the quarter, who'd end up closing the quarter on a 6-0 run to tie this SUNYAC bout up and make the fourth quarter a race to the finish line.
  • In the fourth, the Bengals would have chances to strike and take hold of this matchup, but the Bears defense would respond well, limiting the Bengals chances on offense while tightening up on defense. This swing of momentum to the Bears' favor would be hard for the Bengals to overcome, as they fell in their home season finale.
FOR THE FOES
  • DaeLynn Alcock led the Bears with 23 points and 12 rebounds to secure a double-double.
  • As a team, the Bears shot 47.8% from the field, 33.3% from behind the three-point line, and 67.9% from the free-throw line.
