HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bengals would take control of the first set, jumping out early on the Hawks after a four-point rally. As the set continued, the Bengals kept their strong play with back-to-back runs of six and seven straight. These sets of runs would propel the Bengals past the Hawks to claim the first set win.
  • In the second set, the Hawks would gain an early advantage over the Bengals, following a four-point run of their own. As the Bengals returned the favor with their own four-point rally, the Hawks continued to pressure them throughout the set. Locked in at 15 a side, the Bengals would dig deep, rallying six straight points to take the set from the Hawks, with their eyes on a three-set sweep.
  • With the Bengals looking to close out this AMCC matchup, the Hawks would challenge them as both sides traded points early in the set. A three-point rally from the Bengals would be followed up with a four-point run as the Bengals would take command of this set. While the Hawks would stay afloat late in the set, the Bengals proved too much, cruising to the finish line and sweeping the Hawks to extend their win streak to seven straight games and their AMCC win streak to 10.
