HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Looking to rebound after a tough loss in their last outing, the Buffalo State women's lacrosse team set out to defeat the Allegheny College Gators on Coyer Field.
  • Opening the quarter, the Bengals would start hot with a goal in the eleventh minute, taking an early lead over the Gators. This goal would lead to four unanswered goals by the Bengals, taking control of this non-conference matchup with a five-goal lead heading into the second quarter.
  • The scoring frenzy continued in the second quarter. The Bengals scored three "man-up" goals after a Gators' penalty. They added two more before halftime and walked into the break with a ten-goal advantage.
  • Exiting halftime, the Gators wouldn't go down without a fight, finding the back of the net in the opening minute of play. The Gators would make things difficult for the Bengals in this quarter, limiting their offensive chances. However, the Bengals would find their footing again, scoring back-to-back goals to retake their double-digit advantage over the Gators as play entered the final quarter.
  • Repeating their third-quarter pattern, the Gators scored again before the Bengals netted four unanswered goals to close out the Gators at home and secure a much-needed win.
FOR THE FOES
  • Kendall Cox led the Gators with two points, scoring a goal and adding an assist, while Duchess Jackson led the way on defense with four caused turnovers and seven groundballs.
  • Ella Ashton made 12 saves to keep the Gators in the game.
