CLERMONT, FL – The Buffalo State softball team had a strong bounce-back effort today as they secured wins over North Central and Carleton at THE Spring Ganes.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) and Megan Galbraith (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) each had three hits for the Bengals.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) drove in six runs, including a grand slam for her second home run of the season.
- Gianna Core (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) earned the win on the mound after four innings allowing two runs with four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Rams picked up a pair of runs in the top of the first, the Bengals responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning following Pezdek's grand slam and a base hit from Galbraith.
- Buffalo State added five more runs in the bottom of the second that featured five RBI hits.
- The Bengals offense kept coming with another run in the third and a seven-run fourth inning capped-off with a three-run triple from Deme Kellogg (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) and a hit from Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South).

- Bailey Bast had two hits for the Rams.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Five different Bengals picked up a hit while Burck and Erin Paolilli (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) each drove in two runs.
- Pezdek went the distance on the mound allowing just four hits with two strikeouts to earn the shutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State kept the offensive momentum going early with a four-run first inning. Pezdek and Paolilli each drove in a run before Burck capped-off the inning with a two-run single.
- Paolilli had another RBI in the second inning to give the Bengals a 5-0 lead.
- The early offense proved to be more than enough as Pezdek held Carleton in check to earn her second career shutout.
FOR THE FOES
- Megan Smith had two hits for the Knights.
- Sydney Trentman suffered the loss on the mound after allowing five runs over two innings.
