Outdoor Track & Field Has Strong Start To Season At Danny Curran Invite

CHESTER, PA – The Buffalo State men's and women's outdoor track & field team opened their season this weekend at the Danny Curran Invite hosted by Widener.

THE BENGAL BREAKDOWN

Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) set the tone for the Bengals finishing eighth in the 10,000-meter run with a school record time of 31:24.81, breaking the previous mark set by Tom Proctor in 2001 by nearly one minute.
Bryan Honan (Cortland, NY/Cortland) also had a record-breaking start to the season taking down his own record in the hammer throw from last season with a mark of 55.44 meters. He also finished sixth in the event.
Ethan Mitrano (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was eighth in the shot put with a mark of 14.79 meters on his first throw. Nyla Wilson-Epps (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) was third in the women's shot put at 11.62 meters.
Julius Arias (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) crossed the line in seventh place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 seconds.
Madison MacNeill (Buffalo, NY/west Seneca West) was seventh in the women's high jump at 1.55 meters.
Rounding out the meet, the men's 4x400-meter relay of Terrell Price (Depew, NY/Depew), Jalil Coppedge (Bronx, NY/Ralph R. McKee), Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), and Pablo Ortiz (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) finished fourth with a time of 3:26.49.

The Bengals return to action next weekend as they will travel to Geneseo.
