HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a week-long break, the Bengals aimed to extend their win streak as they visited Penn State Altoona for this AMCC matchup.
  • In the first set, the Bengals showed little rust in their game, jumping out on the Lions early behind a three-point run. As the set continued, the Bengals would rally another four-point run to go up big on the Lions, before closing out the first set and cruising to a first-set win.
  • The tables would turn in the second set. The Lions brought the fight to the Bengals and took an early lead as both teams traded points. However, the Bengals battled back. A decisive eight-point rally put the Bengals in the driver's seat, allowing them to win the second set and move closer to a three-set sweep.
  • With the momentum on their side, the Bengals once again played from behind, as the Lions opened the third set with a five-point run. The Bengals narrowed the gap, but another four-point run by the Lions gave them a commanding mid-set lead. The Bengals responded, rallying for three consecutive three-point bursts to stay in contention. Finally, the Bengals put together a dominant seven-point run to close out the Lions in three sets, keeping their undefeated AMCC streak and extending their win streak to nine.
