BUFFALO, NY– Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) and
Jean Rogers (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) each pitched a complete game shutout as the Buffalo State softball team swept the Fredonia Blue Devils this afternoon on the Buffalo State Softball Field.
GAME ONE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Buffalo State – 1, Fredonia – 0

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Pezdek was nearly perfect on the mound allowing just one hit while striking out eight.
- Deme Kellogg (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) drove in the lone run for Buffalo State. She also earned her 100th career hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State scored their lone run in the bottom of the second inning. Kellogg's base hit scored Pezdek to give Buffalo State a 1-0 lead.
- Pezdek dominated on the mound as she was perfect into the seventh inning.
- With one out in the inning, Fredonia got a base hit on a bunt to gain their first base runner of the afternoon.
- The Blue Devils fouled out to end the game as Buffalo State earned their first SUNYAC win of the season.
FOR THE FOES
- Kendall Phillips took the loss on the mound giving up four hits with two strikeouts.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Rogers earned her first career shutout allowing just three hits from the Blue Devils.
- Mya Hurley (Williamsville, NY/Amherst) tallied three hits and drove in three runs for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) drove in the first run for the Bengals with an RBI hit in the first inning.
- Hurley plated a pair of insurance runs in the fourth inning with a two-run double. She later drove in her third run of the afternoon with a base hit in the sixth inning.
- Rogers held the Blue Devils in check and retired the side in order in the seventh to secure the shutout and the sweep for the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES
- Sabrina Edwards-Smith allowed three earned runs over six innings of action.
