Stewart Homers Twice In Game One As Softball Splits With Cortland

CORTLAND, NY– Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) homered twice in game one as the Buffalo State softball team earned a split this evening against the Cortland Red Dragons in a SUNYAC battle on Dragon Field.

  • Stewart also added a double and drove in six of the Bengals' eight runs in the win. Her six RBI performance matched the most in a single game since at least 2012 (Sydney McIntosh in 2021 and Cassandra O'Hern in 2017).
  • Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) had two hits while Megan Galbraith (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) drove in a run.

  • Buffalo State added three insurance runs in the six inning capped-off with a two-run double from Stewart.
