MORRISVILLE, NY– The Buffalo State softball team erupted for a combined 24 runs and 27 hits as they swept the Morrisville Mustangs this afternoon in a SUNYAC battle on the Morrisville Softball Complex.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island), Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South), Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North), and Deme Kellogg (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) each had three hits for Buffalo State.
- Kellogg drove in four runs while Burck and Pezdek drove in three apiece.
- On the mound, Pezdek pitched all five innings allowing just three hits with six strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State put up five runs in the first inning that featured a single from Burck, a double from Kellogg, and a two-run home run from Pezdek.
- The Bengals added three more runs in the third as Quagliana laced a double to center followed by a ground out from Burck and a single from Kellogg.
- Morrisville got the on the board in the bottom half of the inning off a base hit.
- Buffalo State posted another five-run inning in the fourth before tallying three more in the fifth.
- Pezdek retired the Mustangs in the seventh to secure the win and her seventh complete game of the season.

- Sara Brefka recorded the lone RBI for Morrisville.

- Burck tallied three more hits in game two and drove in two runs.
- Ashley Jedrich (Victor, NY/Victor) posted a two-hit performance.
- Danielle Palisin (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) pitched all five innings of game two allowing just two hits with three strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After opening the scoring in the first inning of game two on an error from the Mustangs, Buffalo State pushed across two more runs in the second after a double from Burck and another error from Morrisville.
- Both sides were in a stalemate until the fifth inning when the Bengals scored five runs capped-off with an RBI single from Burck.
- Palisin struck out the side in the bottom of the fifth to secure the sweep and shutout for the Bengals.

- Gracie Battle struck out two batters over 4.1 innings of work.
