BUFFALO, NY– The Buffalo State softball team swept the Potsdam Bears today on "Greg Willats Day" as they have officially clinched their spot in the SUNYAC Tournament for a fourth straight season.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) had two hits including a three-run homer while also pitching a complete game on the mound allowing just three hits with six strikeouts.
- Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) and Megan Galbraith (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) each had three hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals got the scoring started early in game one as Pezdek crushed a home run to jump start the Buffalo State offense.
- Quagliana, Galbraith, and Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) each drove in a run in the third inning to give Buffalo State a 6-0 lead.
- The Bengals capitalized on a pair of defensive miscues from the Bears in the fourth and fifth inning to reach the eight-run margin to win game one.
FOR THE FOES
- Emily Birmingham took the loss on the mound, allowing three runs over two innings of work.
GAME TWO BASICS

RECORDS: Buffalo State: 23-11 (10-6 SUNYAC), Potsdam: 13-25 (3-13 SUNYAC)
INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Pezdek had another two-hit game while driving in a pair of runs.
- Erin Paolilli (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) had three hits and drove in two runs.
- Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) earned the win on the mound pitching all six innings allowing three hits with three strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pezdek drove in the first run of the game with a base hit in the first inning before the Bengals saw another run following a Potsdam error.
- Buffalo State scored in each of the next three innings to take a 6-0 lead.
- In the top of the sixth, Potsdam pushed across their first run of the evening. The Bengals responded in the bottom half of the inning with Pezdek's second home run of the day, a triple from Quagliana, and a base hit from Burck to reach the eight-run mark again.
FOR THE FOES
- Three different Bears picked up a hit in game two.
