HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a weather delay postponed their last outing, a return to Coyer Field awaited the Bengals as they hosted the SUNY Potsdam Bears in SUNYAC action.
- In the first quarter, the Bengals continued their road form, scoring four goals in six minutes for an early lead over the Bears. After a late Bears goal, the Bengals responded with three more, ending the quarter ahead by five, despite another Bears score.
- However, the second quarter would see the pace of play slow down in the Bears' favor. Some costly mistakes and ill-timed penalties would limit the Bengals' chances with ball possession, as the Bears' defense tightened up the Bengals' attack. After a long lull of play, the Bears would strike first, scoring a goal in the final two minutes of the first half. Not to be outdone, though, the Bengals would respond with a goal of their own, holding onto their five-goal lead into halftime.
- Exiting halftime, the Bengals surged with energy, scoring four times in the first six minutes. The Bears kept the game within single digits by scoring twice, but the Bengals answered both times with two more goals to close the third and entered the final quarter up nine.
- In the fourth quarter, the Bengals shut out the Bears, delivering their most complete performance of the season. With a surge of seven more goals, the Bengals powered past the finish line, notching their third SUNYAC victory and their fifth win on home turf.
FOR THE FOES
- Auna Shadle led the Bears with three points, recording a goal and an assist, while Jayla Thompson scored twice.
- Olivia Minarich made five saves for the Bears.
