HAMBURG, NY– The Buffalo State softball team got back in the win column this evening with a total of 24 runs and 27 hits against the Hilbert Hawks in a non-conference battle at the FSSJ Field Complex.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Seven Bengals picked up a pair of hits while Ashley Jedrich (Victor, NY/Victor) and Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) each drove in three runs.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) got the win on the mound going three innings allowing just two hits with five strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State pushed four runs across in the second inning to take control in the action early.
- In the third, the Bengals erupted for ten runs on eight hits, matching their biggest offensive inning of the season.
- Buffalo State added a trio of runs in the fifth inning before Jean Rogers (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) shut down the Hawks to secure the win.

- Kaitlin Stolowksi drove in the lone run for the Hawks.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) paced Buffalo State with two hits and two RBI.
- Jedrich and Briana Fitzgerald (Rensselaer, NY/Rensselaer) each tallied two hits as well.
- Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) earned the win on the mound after three innings of work with Gianna Core (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) picking up the save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals kept the offense going early in game two with four runs in the first inning.
- Buffalo State added two more runs in the third inning after Quagliana scored on an error and Emily Mullen (Pearland, TX/Glenda Dawson) drove in her first run of the season.
- Hilbert saw some life in the bottom of the third scoring three runs. A pair of hits from the Hawks in the fifth made the score 6-5.
- Jedrich scored a crucial insurance run in the sixth inning on a wild pitch before Core retired the Hawks to seal the game two win for the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES
- Victoria Koenig had two hits and drove in two runs.
