BUFFALO, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2026 softball all-conference team today, recognizing four Bengals on the teams.
Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) and
Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) earned a spot on the first time while
Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and
Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) were second team selections. In addition, head coach
Jamie Brown and her staff were named the Sandra Hollander Coaching Staff of the Year.
Quagliana earns First Team All-SUNYAC for the second time in her career earning a spot at third base. Quagliana hit a team-high .395 with 10 doubles, three triples, 30 RBI, and was 10-10 on stolen base attempts. She also led the team with 51 hits and 41 runs scored while posting a .932 OPS and a .519 slugging percentage. Quagliana was also the only Bengal to start all 41 games this season.
Pezdek earns the third All-SUNYAC selection of her career and her first appearance on the first team. She earns the recognition as the designated player after posting a strong season on the mound and at the plate. On the mound, Pezdek was one of the top pitchers in the SUNYAC going 16-6 with a 2.11 ERA, 121 strikeouts, four complete game shutouts, and held opponents to a .203 batting average. At the plate, Pezdek hit .377 with five home runs, 30 RBI, 12 doubles, and a 1.077 OPS. She was also named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team.
Stewart earns a spot on the All-SUNYAC team for the third time in her career, this time on the second team. Stewart was a staple of the Buffalo State lineup hitting .388 with a pair of home runs, three doubles, 15 RBI, a .494 slugging percentage, and a .963 OPS. Stewart also scored 25 runs and posted a .929 fielding percentage at second base.
Rounding out the All-SUNYAC field is Burck earning the first honor of her career on the second team. The sophomore outfielder had a breakout campaign for the Bengals hitting .364 with seven doubles, 32 RBI, 24 runs scored, a .873 OPS, and was 4-4 on stolen base attempts. She also played a strong outfield with a .933 fielding percentage.
Brown and her staff earn the Sandra Hollander Coaching Staff of the Year for the second time in her tenure. The Bengals finished the season as the three-seed in the SUNYAC Tournament after posting a record of 28-13 (12-6 SUNYAC), their best overall record since the 2009 season. Buffalo State knocked out Oswego, Oneonta, and New Paltz in the conference tournament before falling to Cortland in the championship game. Brown was joined by her two assistant coaches in
Julia Blujus and
Caitlyn Parsons; who both played under Brown at Buffalo State.
