Jordan Rodriguez has been officially elevated to head track and field and cross country coach at Buffalo State after serving in an interim capacity for the past two years. Rodriguez had been an assistant coach with the Bengals since the 2022-23 season.
Rodriguez came to Buffalo State from Division II Cal State, East Bay, where he served as part of the coaching staff for two years. During his second year at East Bay, he was elevated to acting head coach of the cross country and track and field teams. He guided the women's cross-country team to a ranking of as high as 29th-nationally, as well as a third-place finish in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships.
He previously coached an assistant coach at Division I Niagara University and also coached both cross country and track and field at Ida S. Baker High School in Cape Coral, Fla. before transitioning to coaching at the collegiate level.
A native of Miami, Fla., he earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of South Florida in 2016. Rodriguez also holds United States of America Track & Field (USATF) Level 2 Certifications in Jumps, Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, and Endurance.
