SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Buffalo State men's soccer team fell short in their season opener against the Skidmore Thoroughbreds this afternoon with a 1-0 final on Wachenheim Field.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Jay Kitcher (New Castle, Australia/St. Phillips Christian) and Zaccaria Gerosa (New York, NY/U. of Nebraska HS) each had a shot on goal for the Bengals.
- Carson Smith (Big Falts, NY/Horseheads) made a trio of saves in goal for Buffalo State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides were in a stalemate the entire first half as neither side could find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of action.
- The start of the second half featured much of the same. However, after a foul on the Bengals, Skidmore was able to capitalize on a penalty kick opportunity to open the scoring.
- Buffalo State was unable to respond the remainder of the matchup as Skidmore was able to secure the season opening win.
FOR THE FOES
- Evan Riccelli scored the game-winning goal for Skidmore.
- Rowan McLear made a pair of saves for his first shutout of the season.
