- Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville-Griffith) led the Bengals attack with 17 kills while adding ten digs.
- Hailey Kulniszewski (Elma, NY/Iroquois) led the team with 20 digs while Alex Arroyo (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown East) dished out 25 assists.
- Sophia Page (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) added a trio of blocks in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo took control of the action in the first set. After a late 7-0 run, the Knights were eventually able to close out the opening set.
- The Bengals bounced-back with a dominant second set that featured a 7-0 run with the Bengals already leading 16-9. A service ace from the Bengals was enough to earn the set win.
- Geneseo took advantage in third set with a narrow 25-23 win before Buffalo State responded with another dominant set win to force a decisive fifth and final set.
- After a strong start for Buffalo State in the fifth set, the Knights responded with an 8-1 run before eventually securing the win, haulting a late push from the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES
- Kathryn Barba led the Knights with 20 kills.
- Zooey Gagnier posted 27 digs in the win for Geneseo.
