BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's soccer team fell to the St. John Fisher University Cardinals, 3-0, in nonconference action on Wednesday evening.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Lilly Jaroszewski (El Paso, TX/Coronado) led the Bengals offensively with two shots.
- In goal, all three Buffalo State goalkeepers saw action. Gabriela Aichinger (Elma, NY/Iroquois) made the start and recorded two saves. Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) and Liz Flores (Hurst, TX/Colleyville Heritage) split time in the second half, with Flores leading the Bengals with four saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Closing out a six-game nonconference homestand, the Bengals looked to finish their home slate on a high note against the Cardinals.
- St. John Fisher controlled much of the first-half action, keeping possession deep in the Buffalo State zone. Despite strong defensive play and solid goalkeeping from the Bengals, the Cardinals broke through with a penalty-kick goal in the 27th minute and added a second goal just two minutes later. Buffalo State entered halftime trailing 2-0.
- The Cardinals continued to dictate the pace in the second half, but Buffalo State's defense once again held firm for most of the period. After the Bengals generated some offensive pressure, St. John Fisher capitalized on a counterattack and scored its third goal in the 86th minute to seal the 3-0 victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Emily Woolingham paced the Cardinals with a goal and an assist, while Jillyan Ewing and Gianna Conklin each added a goal.
- Isabella Ayers earned the shutout victory, making two saves.
UP NEXT
The Bengals will look to bounce back on their first road trip of the season as they travel to Lycoming College on Saturday, Sept. 19, for a 1:00 p.m. matchup with the Warriors.
