WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Buffalo State women's soccer team was defeated in a shootout contest against the Lycoming College Warriors, 7-5.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Riley Stevenson (Albany, NY/Guilderland) and Lilly Jaroszewski (El Paso, TX/Coronado) each scored two goals to lead the Bengals. Kaylee Lockwood (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) rounded out the scoring with a goal as well.
- Makenzie Below (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) finished the day with two assists, while Regan Michel (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) picked up an assist as well.
- In goal, all three Buffalo State goalkeepers saw action. Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) made the start in net, making two saves to lead the Bengals. Gabriela Aichinger (Elma, NY/Iroquois) and Liz Flores (Hurst, TX/Colleyville Heritage) split time in the second half, with each goalie tallying a save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After starting their first six games of the season at home, the Bengals hit the road to start a three-game nonconference road trip, with their first stop coming against the Lycoming College Warriors.
- Opening the first half, both sides started off hot, as the Warriors opened the scoring in the 19th minute before the Bengals found the equalizer in the 21st minute. However, the high pace of the matchup would lean away from the Bengals, as the Warriors scored back-to-back goals in the 30th and 31st minutes. The Bengals wouldn't have to wait long to respond, with a goal coming in the 33rd minute to bring the Bengals within striking distance as the matchup headed toward halftime.
- Exiting the halftime break, the Bengals would strike first, tying this high-paced matchup in the 49th minute of play. However, a yellow card from the Bengals would give the Warriors another opening to take advantage of, and that they did with a goal in the 66th minute. The Bengals would respond with another tying goal in the 68th minute, but the Warriors would slowly close the book on the Bengals in this one, with a goal in the 71st minute before another goal in the 74th minute following a Bengals red card. As play slipped away in this one, a pair of back-to-back goals by both sides would close out the shootout, as the Bengals would fall short on the road.
FOR THE FOES
- Ella Magee picked up a hat trick in this contest, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Amelia Chapman also had a multipoint night, finishing with a goal and an assist.
- Lead Elliott and Kylie Barkman split halves in net, with Elliott leading the way with three saves.

The Bengals will once again stay on the road, as they travel to Houghton University on Tuesday, September 22, to take on the Highlanders at 7:00 PM.
