BUFFALO, NY – Lesedi Sekhobo (Albany, NY/Shaker) of the Buffalo State men's soccer team and Alex Arroyo (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown East) of the Buffalo State women's volleyball team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
 
Sekhobo, a sophomore business major, tallied four points for the Bengals with a goal and two assists. In Wednesday's effort against RIT, Sekhobo tallied an assist for Buffalo State. In Saturday's dominant win over Hilbert, Sekhobo scored his second goal of the season while also adding another assist. He currently sits tied for second on the team with seven points on the year.
 
The men's soccer team returns to action next Wednesday as they will host Cortland to open conference play.
 
Arroyo, a sophomore hospitality major, had a strong weekend for the Bengals as they battled Rochester, Geneseo, and John Carroll in the annual Bengal Challenge. Arroyo tallied 37 assists against the Yellowjackets in a four-set win for Buffalo State while also adding 12 digs. To close out the tournament, Arroyo added another 64 assists including a career-high 39 against Geneseo. Arroyo was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
The women's volleyball team returns to action tonight as they will host Nazareth for a non-conference battle at 6:00 pm.
