SCHENECTADY, NY – The Buffalo State football team fell 63-14 this afternoon in their Liberty League opener at Union on Frank Bailey Field.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- JP Plaisime (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) and Ciyan Philbert (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) each scored a touchdown for the Bengals.
- Philbert led the Buffalo State offense with 82 rushing yards.
- Defensively, James Gibbons (Fort Drum, NY/Carthage) led the team with nine total tackles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a pair of scores in the opening quarter, Union added another touchdown and kept Buffalo State off the scoreboard to carry a 21-0 lead into the half.
- Coming out of halftime, Union scored on their opening drive before capitalizing on a pair of fumble recoveries which each resulted in a touchdown.
- After two more touchdown drives from the Garnet Chargers in the fourth quarter, Buffalo State was able to get on the scoreboard as Plaisime caught a nine-yard pass.
- The Bengals added another score later in the quarter but Union was able to secure the first conference game of the season.
FOR THE FOES
- Luke Sheehan threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns.
- Five different receivers scored a touchdown for the Garnet Chargers.

The Bengals return to action next weekend as they will travel to Rochester for another Liberty League contest.
