HOW IT HAPPENED
- After eight-straight road contests to begin their season, the Bengals finally made their return to Coyer Field, hosting the #22 Cortland Red Dragons for their SUNYAC opener.
- Opening the first half, the Bengals would find the back of the net first in the 20th minute, swinging the momentum in their favor. As play continued, the Bengals defense would take over, holding the Red Dragons to tough shots while getting strong keeper play in net. This would be enough for the Bengals to head into halftime with the early 1-0 lead over the Red Dragons.
- In the second half, the Bengals would find some open opportunities on the net, pinning the Red Dragons on their heels early in the half. However, the Red Dragons would find the equalizer in the 61st minute, before another Red Dragon goal would put them ahead of the Bengals in the 70th minute. As the Bengals fought to find their own equalizer late in the half, the Red Dragons would find the back of the net once again in the 89th minute, dropping the Bengals in their home SUNYAC opener.
