FINAL SCORE: Baldwin Wallace – 3, Buffalo State – 1

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Reagan Michel (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) scored the lone goal for the Bengals, with Kaylee Lockwood (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) being credited with the assist.
  • Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) and Gabriela Aichinger (Elma, NY/Iroquois) split halves in net, with Aichinger making four saves to lead the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After starting their season with a nonconference win over Hilbert College this past Tuesday, the Bengals returned to Coyer Field with hopes of adding another win with their bout against the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets.
  • The first half would see these two sides each get healthy chances at the net, but it would be the Yellow Jackets who'd strike first in the 28th minute to take the early lead. This chance would lead to another Yellow Jackets goal in the 30th minute, putting pressure on the Bengals to answer. That answer would come right before halftime, with the Bengals finding the back of the net in the 41st minute and trailing the Yellow Jackets by a goal heading into the break.
  • In the second half, the Bengals upped their offensive pressure against the Yellow Jackets in search of the equalizer in this bout. While the Bengals would create some strong looks at the net, it would be the Yellow Jackets who'd find the back of the net again, scoring in the 83rd minute and giving the Bengals their first loss of the season.
  • The Bengals were outshot by the Yellow Jackets 13 to 11, with nine shots on goal for the Blue Devils and eight for the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES
  • Elise Papp scored twice for the Yellow Jackets, with Kalyn Rich picking up a goal as well. Ella James finished the day with two assists.
  • Kelly Carver picked up the win in net, making six saves.
