BUFFALO, NY—Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/Univ. School of Milwaukee) made 24 saves for her first shutout as a Bengal to backstop Buffalo State (1-6-3/1-3-3) to its first win of the season, topping Potsdam (2-6-1/1-5-1), 3-0, in an ECAC West game tonight at the Sports Arena.

Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, ON/Chingaucousy) opened the scoring for the Bengals in the first period when a long wrist shot found the back of the net. Brianna Murphy (Depew, NY/Lancaster) extended the lead in the second with an unassisted tally on a breakaway, and Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) closed out the scoring in the third period with a one-timer from Leah Knott (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson). Kelsey Truran (Berkley, MI/Berkley) added an assist on the first goal.

Buffalo State outshot the Bears, 32-24.
