UTICA, NY— Utica (8-6-2/4-5-1) netted three third-period goals to pull away from visiting Buffalo State (2-9-4/2-5-4) in a 5-0 win in an ECAC West game tonight at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

The Pioneers scored once in the first and again in the second before blowing the game open. Utica outshot Buffalo State, 35-15, and went 2 for 5 on the power play. Kelly Mendola (Buffalo/Kenmore East) allowed four goals on 29 shots in her first action as a Bengal, before being relieved by #A.J. Sliwinski# (Clarence/Clarence).

Utica will host Buffalo State again tomorrow at 3 p.m.
