UTICA, NY— Utica (9-6-2/5-5-1) scored three unanswered goals, including the overtime winner to stop Buffalo State (2-10-4/2-6-4), 3-2, in an ECAC West game today at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

Buffalo State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 6:36 of the game. Christine Williams (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) opened the scoring and then assisted on a goal by Kristin Bozek (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech). Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) added an assist as well. The Pioneers got on the scoreboard 22 seconds into the third period, and then evened the score with a shorthanded goal just over five minutes later. Utica then ended the game 1:50 into overtime.

The Pioneers outshot the Bengals, 31-21. Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/U. School of Milwaukee) made 28 saves for Buffalo State.

The Bengals will travel to No. 1-ranked Plattsburgh for another pair of league games next weekend.
