GLASSBORO, NJ—Rowan (6-1/5-1) scored on the second play from scrimmage and limited Buffalo State (1-6/1-5) to just 44 yards of total offense, cruising to a 57-7 victory over visiting in an NJAC contest today at John Page Field.

The Profs racked up 422 yards of offense and forced the Bengals to minus-32 net rushing yards on the day and capitalized on a 30-point second quarter to race to the win. Rowan has scored 252 points in its last four games.

Ryan Leafy led a balanced Rowan attack with 10 carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Frank Wilczynski was 9 of 16 for 119 yards and a touchdown and also had seven rushes for 58 yards and scored once on the ground.

Ryan Lehotsky (N. Royalton, OH/N. Royalton) was just 7 of 23 for 76 yards with a touchdown in his first collegiate start. Eddie Weiser (Grand Island/Grand Island) had a team-high 11 tackles on defense.

Wiczynski four Anthony Barone for a 59-yard catch and run on the second play from scrimmage of the game to take an early 7-0 lead.

The Bengals held Rowan in check for the remainder of the first quarter, but the Profs exploded for 30 points in the second quarter to take a 37-0 lead into halftime. Rowan scored on runs of 29 and 1 yards by Leafy, a pair of 1-yard runs by Jon Downes and Wilczynski, and added a safety on a botched punt attempt by the Bengals.

Rowan pushed the lead to 43-0 with Downes' second rushing score of the day, this time from 36 yards, before the Bengals finally got on the scoreboard. The Bengals assembled a 10-play, 61-yard drive capped by a 9-yard touchdown reception by Matt Pagano (Walworth/E. Rochester) from Lehotsky.

The Profs added a score on a 14-yard run by Tarriq Gaines on the final play of the third quarter, and then scored the only points of the fourth quarter on a 5-yard run by Tim Hagerty.

Buffalo State will host William Paterson next Saturday at noon.
