BUFFALO, NY— Buffalo State (0-1-0) hosted the Concordia Falcons (1-0-0) in its season opener at the Buffalo State Ice Arena and fell 4-1.

The Bengals headed into the first intermission down two goals as Sarah Luberda scored one at even-strength and a second on the power play. Buffalo State would receive a power-play goal from Amanda Johnston (Thunder Bay, ON/Sir Winston Churchill) early in the second period. That would be as close as the Bengals would come as the Falcons would add two more goals on the day.

Buffalo State was outshot 28-19 as Jess Garland (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) made 24 saves for the Bengals in net.

Buffalo State's next game is tomorrow as Concordia and the Bengals will play again with game time set for noon.
