WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—
Katie Olejarski (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic) scored a pair of power-play goals including the game-winner to lead Buffalo State (3-6) to a 3-2 victory over host Williams (3-2-1) in a non-conference game today at Lansing-Chapman Rink.
Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/Univ. School of Milwaukee) made 40 saves, including 25 in the third period to preserve the win. The Bengals were outshot 42-35, including 25-10 in the final frame.
After trailing 1-0 entering the second period,
Courtney Carnes (Winslow, ME/Winslow) pulled the Bengals even with her team-leading third goal of the season. Olejarski netted a power-play goal minutes later with an assist from
Leah Knott (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) to put Buffalo State in front. Williams knotted the score at 2-2 before the second intermission, but Olejarski scored the only goal of the third period at the 3:38 mark with an assist from
Kailyn Murray (Medicine Hat, AB/Warner Hockey School).
Buffalo State will hit the road again next weekend for a two-game ECAC West set at Potsdam on Friday and Saturday.
