PLATTSBURGH, NY—No. 2-ranked Plattsburgh (14-3-1/10-3-0) peppered the Buffalo State (2-12-4/2-8-4) goalies with 56 shots in 5-0 win in an ECAC West game today at Stafford Arena.

Plattsburgh opened the scoring with two goals in the second period and added three more in the third. Kelly Mendola (Buffalo/Kenmore East) started for the Bengals and made 33 saves on 37 shots in just over two periods of work. Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/U. School of Milwaukee) allowed one goal on 15 shots in relief.  Buffalo  State had seven shots on goal.

The road does not get much easier as the Bengals will next host No. 3 Middlebury on Saturday at 4 p.m.
