BUFFALO, NY—Neumann (12/10/9-6) slipped past host Buffalo State (2/15/4/2-9-4), 4-2, in an ECAC West game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, ON/Chingaucousy) and Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) each had one goal for Buffalo State. Gillian Toneguzzo (Caledonia, ON/McKinnon Park) and Alex Papineau (Stoney Point, ON/St. Anne's) chipped in one assist apiece.

Buffalo State took an early lead after McMullan scored just six minutes into the first period, but the Knights answered back at the 10:45 mark to knot things at one after the first intermission. Neither team could find the back of the net in the second. Neumann took a 3-1 lead in the third stanza, scoring at 4:55 and again at 14:27, but the Bengals responded with their second of the game less than a minute later to cut the lead to 3-2. The Knights, however, put the game away with an empty net goal in the 19th minute.

Buffalo State and Neumann will face off again tomorrow at 4 p.m.
