BUFFALO, NY—Amherst's Julia Koch (Rochester Hills, MI/Belle Tire) had a goal and an assist to lead No. 6 Amherst (14-4) to a 6-2 victory over host Buffalo State (2-14-4) in a non-conference game this afternoon at the Ice Arena.

Courtney Hanlon (Fullerton, CA/N. American Hockey Academy), Megan Curry (Shorewood, MN/Breck School), Randi Zukas (Glen Head, NY/N. American Hockey Academy), Ellen Swiontkowski (Minnetonka, MN/Breck School) and Brittney Evans (Edina, MN/Edina) also scored for the Lord Jeffs. Josie Fisher (White River Junction, VT/Hanover) chipped in two assists for Amherst. Gillian Toneguzzo (Caledonia, ON/McKinnon Park) and Linda Evans (Fairbanks, AK/West Valley) scored for the Bengals.

Amherst held a 3-0 lead through two periods of play before Buffalo State netted two goals in a three-minute span midway through the third stanza to close the gap to 3-2. The Lord Jeffs responded with three more tallies to close out the third, including an empty net goal. Amherst outshot the Bengals, 43-13, and was 1 for 4 on the power-play.

Buffalo State will host Neumann in a pair of critical ECAC West games next weekend at the Ice Arena.
