FOX CHAPEL, Pa.—Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, ON/Chingaucousy) scored twice and Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/Univ. School of Milwaukee) made 48 saves as Buffalo State (7-7-1/4-4-1) held off host Chatham (2-10-3/0-8-2) in the second of a two-game ECAC West set today at Shady Side Academy Rink. 

Buffalo State extended its unbeaten streak to five games at 4-0-1 and leveled its overall and conference records at .500.  The school record for longest unbeaten streak is six games, set back in 2000-01.  

After Chatham outshot Buffalo State 23-2 in a scoreless first period, the Bengals came to life with a pair of second-period power-play goals by McMullan. Casey Bull (Lockport/Lockport) assisted on the first goal, and Brianna Murphy (Depew/Lancaster) set up the second. Chatham scored the lone goal of the third period, but was not able to get the equalizer past Koniar.

Chatham held a 49-21 advantage in shots on goal, but the Bengals capitalized with the extra attacker, going 2 for 6 on the power play, compared to 0 for 6 by the Cougars.

Buffalo State will return home to host Utica for another pair of ECAC West games on Friday and Saturday.
