BUFFALO, NY—Rio Flynn (Happy Valley, OR/Appleby College ON) scored her first career goal 1:13 into overtime to give Buffalo State (5-7) a 2-1 victory over Connecticut College (1-6-1) in a non-conference game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Flynn also assisted on the game-tying goal by Christine Williams (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) early in the third period. Kailyn Murray (Medicine Hat, AB/Warner Hockey School) also had an assist on the equalizer.

Ashleigh Kowtoniuk (Johnstown, PA/Taft) opened the scoring for Connecticut when she one-timed a rebound into an open net in the first period. The Bengals were outshot 32-23 for the game and 13-5 in the third period, but Williams made the most of the limited opportunities to pull the Bengals even. Williams then added the lone assist on the overtime winner as Flynn's wrister rang off right post on its way into the back of the net.

Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/Univ. School of Milwaukee) made 31 saves in the win for the Bengals, and her counterpart Sara Christopher (Andover, MA/Brooks) had 21 stops.

Buffalo State will host the Camels again tomorrow at 1 p.m.
