BUFFALO, NY – Sophomore Christine Williams (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) scored two goals, giving her a team-high six on the season, to lead Buffalo State (6-7-0) over Connecticut College (1-7-1) with a 4-1 victory at the Ice Arena sweeping the two-game weekend series.

The teams traded a pair of goals in the first period as the Bengals' Kailyn Murray (Medicine Hat, AB/Warner Hockey School) scored her fourth goal of the season at 9:10 and Connecticut's Ariel DiPasquale (Whitestone/Archbishop Molloy) scored her second of the year at 11:31.

Buffalo State added three more goals in the second as Williams scored a shorthanded marker, which was the eventual game winner, at 3:22. Lauren Mallo (Maple Ridge, BC/Thomas Haney) registered a power play tally for the Bengals at 5:21 before Wiliams netted her second of the day at 10:03.

Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/Univ. School of Milwaukee) made 38 saves for Buffalo State in goal as Connecticut held a 39-13 overall shooting advantage.

The next action for the Bengals is on Jan. 9 as they will host an exhibition game against Nepean with a 7 p.m. start time.
