POTSDAM, NY—Amanda Johnston (Thunder Bay, ON/Sir Winston Churchill) had a goal and an assist, but Buffalo State (1-4/0-3) could not hold on, falling 3-2 at Potsdam (1-0/1-0) tonight in an ECAC West contest.

The Bears scored first with the only goal of the opening period, before the Bengals took a 2-1 lead with a pair of goals early in the second frame. Johnston netted Buffalo State's first goal, before Christine Williams (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) lit the lamp to put the Bengals in front. Potsdam battled back with a pair of power-play goals, however, evening the score late in the second, before netting the winner early in the third.  

Buffalo State held a slight 32-30 edge in shots, but went 0 for 5 on the power play, compared to 2 for 4 by the Bears. Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/U. School of Milwaukee) had 27 stops for the Bengals

Buffalo State and Potsdam will square off again tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
