POTSDAM, NY—Buffalo State (2-4/1-3) peppered the Potsdam (1-1/1-1) goal with 46 shots and converted the offensive attack into a 5-3 victory in an ECAC West contest this afternoon at Maxcy Hall Arena.

Nicole Laurel (El Monte, CA/Arroyo), Christine Williams (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls), and Bri Murphy (Depew/Lancaster) all had a goal and an assist for the Bengals. Alanna McMullen (Calgary, AB/Warner Hockey School) added her first collegiate goal, and Lauren Mallo (Maple Ridge, BC/Thomas Haney) also scored.

Buffalo State opened the scoring with Mallo's second goal of the season, but Potsdam evened the score at 1-1 late in the opening frame. The Bears took their only lead of the game with a power-play marker midway through the second period, but the Bengals roared back with three unanswered goals before the second intermission. After a power-play goal by McMullen, the Bengals connected twice in 39 seconds with a goal from Laurel and a shorthanded tally by Williams. Murphy extended the lead to three in final stanza before Potsdam got one back.

Potsdam sent 31 shots at the Bengals' goal, and Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/U. School of Milwaukee) finished with 28 stops.

Buffalo State will visit Neumann for another pair of ECAC West games next Saturday and Sunday.
