BUFFALO, NY—The Buffalo Bisons U19 netted three goals in the second period and skated to a 3-1 victory over host Buffalo State in an exhibition game today at the Ice Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Bisons exploded for a three-goal second period to take command of the game. Lauren Mallo (Maple Ridge, BC/Thomas Haney) gave the Bengals life with a goal early in the third period with an assist from Marina Meneakis (Sante Fe, NM/Los Alamos), but the Bengals comeback bid stopped there.

The Bengals outshot the Bisons, 28-24, but could not convert on four power-play opportunities. Jessica Garland (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) made 21 stops for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State will next host the No. 1-ranked team in the nation RIT next Friday at 4 p.m.
