Women’s Hockey Sweeps Chatham, 4-1

BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (4-3-1/3-2-1) completed the weekend sweep of Chatham (0-4/0-4) defeating the Cougars, 4-1, in an ECAC West game this afternoon at the Ice Arena.

For the second straight game, the Bengals were led by Christine Williams (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) who finished with two goals and an assist. Jeyna Minnick (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) and Courtney Carnes (Winslow, ME/Winslow) also scored, while Brianna Murphy (Depew, NY/Lancaster) chipped in three helpers.

Buffalo State scored twice in the opening period and added a single tally in both the second and third stanzas to come away with the win.

The Bengals were 2 of 6 on the power play and outshot Chatham 31-20. Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) stopped 19 shots for her fourth win of the season.

Buffalo State will next play at Plattsburgh Saturday at 3 p.m.
