PLATTSBURGH, NY—Courtney Carnes (Winslow, ME/Winslow) scored for Buffalo State (4-4-1/3-3-1) with 12 seconds remaining, but it was not enough as No. 8 Plattsburgh (6-2-1/5-0-1) powered past the visiting Bengals in an ECAC West game today at Stafford Arena.

The Cardinals broke the game open with a three-goal second period, and then added another goal before Carnes finally got the Bengals on the board with an assist from Melissa Ash (Binghamton/Chenanga Valley).

The Cardinals doubled up Buffalo State in shots, 42-21. Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) made 38 stops for the Bengals in the loss.  Buffalo State was 0 for 7 with the power play, and Plattsburgh was 1 for 5.

Buffalo State and Plattsburgh will face off again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
