PLATTSBURGH, NY—Buffalo State (4-5-1/3-4-1) mounted a furious comeback in the third period, but fell short, dropping a 3-2 decision at No. 8 Plattsburgh (7-2-1/6-0-1) in an ECAC West game today at Stafford Arena.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a goal in the first and two more in the second, before the Bengals rallied in the third.  Freshman Jeyna Minnick (Rochester/Greece-Arcadia) got Buffalo State on the board with an unassisted marker just 14 seconds into the final frame.  Christine Williams (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) cut the deficit to one with another unassisted goal just over four minutes later, but the Bengals were unable to net the equalizer.

The Cardinals outshot Buffalo State, 42-12, but Jordan Lee (Colorado Springs, CO/Widefield) made 39 stops to keep the Bengals in the game.

Buffalo State will next travel to New Hampshire for a pair of non-conference games against Plymouth State on Friday and Saturday.
